Overview
FieldSocio supports 13 Indian languages through the Bhashini platform. Language support includes automatic speech recognition (ASR), translation, and text-to-speech (TTS).

Tier Differences
- Tier 1 — Higher accuracy ASR models with more training data. Best for critical interviews.
- Tier 2 — Good accuracy but may require more manual correction. Being continuously improved.
Choosing the Right Language
When setting up an interview or FGD:
- Select the primary language spoken during the session
- If participants switch between languages (code-switching), choose the dominant language
- English portions within an Indian language interview are handled automatically
Tips for Better Results
- Set the correct language before recording — this determines which ASR model is used
- Speak clearly and at a moderate pace
- Minimize background noise
- For mixed-language conversations, choose the language used most frequently
