Delete Your Account

Before You Delete

We recommend taking these steps before deleting your account:

• Export your data — Download all your research data (recordings, transcripts, survey data) from the app's export feature.
• Let the app finish syncing — Data recorded offline that has not synced is deleted from the device too. Settings shows how many items are still unsynced.
• Cancel your subscription — Cancel any active subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play to avoid further charges.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: From the App

1. Open the FieldSocio app on your device
2. Go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom navigation)
3. In Account, tap Delete Account
4. Tap Delete, then confirm with Delete Everything
5. Your data is deleted from our servers and from the device, and you are signed out

Option 2: Via Email

1. Send an email to ask@fieldsocio.app from the email address registered with your account (this is how we confirm it is you)
2. Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request
3. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 7 business days

What Gets Deleted

• Your account profile and credentials
• All research projects and data
• Audio recordings and transcripts
• Survey responses and field notes
• PRA exercises and qualitative coding data
• Consent records, AI analysis results and search index entries

What we keep for one year

Rule 8(3) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 requires us to keep a minimal record of the account (account ID, email address, dates of account creation and deletion) and logs of processing for one year. They are then erased automatically. No recordings, transcripts or other research content are kept.

Research participants

If you took part in a study, please ask the researcher who collected your data to withdraw your consent or delete your data. You can also write to ask@fieldsocio.app and we will pass your request to them. See our Privacy Notice for all your rights.
